This essential is dedicated to the work of the philosopher Hans Jonas from the point of view of the development of his thinking. The early studies of late Gothic Gnosis form the starting point. Here Jonas encounters a topic that he critically discusses throughout his later work, namely that of the hostile dualism. The philosopher Hans Jonas (1903-1993) is one of the most prominent representatives of German-Jewish emigration and one of the most important intellectuals of the 20th century.
